Operation Beautiful

Last night I was feeling the fun of insomnia, sleep taking forever to find me as per usual. Bored out of my skull I turned to FML, a website I hadn't been on in forever. From there I found GMH. After reading through a few stories/encounters that tugged at my heart strings I found one that made reference to/advertised Operation Beautiful. I find that to be a beautiful site, hence why I'm making this journal. I'm not really one to use this feature but I do hope that someone, anyone, will see this entry and stumble upon the website and help in the cause.

The mission of Operation Beautiful is to post anonymous notes in public places for other women to find. The point is that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. You are enough... just the way you are!


Basically, you take post its and write a nice inspirational message about how being you is enough and you're beautiful. Then you take those notes and put them in public places for people to find and hopeful bring a smile to their face. Places like public bathroom mirrors, inside bathroom stalls, inside a changing room on the mirror; ect. The options are limitless! One of my favorites I read about was someone writing the note backwards and sticking it on the wall behind the mirror so while looking in the mirror the woman would see "You are beautiful" the correct way. Of course the website's URL should also be on the note that way others may get involved/find the explanation.

I stayed up half the night making notes to bring with me wherever I may go. My personal favorite quote is: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, rather it is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous & talented?" But really, who are you not to be? We were born to manifest the glory & beauty within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in all of us. And when we let that light sine we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

So in short, what I'm saying is -- get involved & make a difference. Bring light into your life & in turn bring light into others. OPERATION BEAUTIFUL!
